Dot NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought third-level domain names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can secure your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific stipulations on who can grab a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
